Dear Ridge View Band Parents,

Congratulations to the 32 students who were selected by audition to our 2010 Blazer Band Color Guard! Joy will continue auditions today for 7 students who had a conflict with the school musical last week, so it may turn out even a little bigger!

Did you forget about today’s deadline for Banquet Reservations? No problem – however, we MUST receive your reservation no later than tomorrow night’s Booster Club meeting.

I hope to see you at tomorrow night’s Booster Club meeting and at Thursday night’s Spring Concert.

Dear Ridge View Band Parents,

The students performed wonderfully in the Universal Studios Parade Saturday morning! In addition, they had a great time at Wet ‘n Wild, Arabian Nights, Islands of Adventure, City Walk, and Cocoa Beach. I want to thank Scott Field and Steve Kolb for not only chaperoning, but for driving the equipment truck; Dennis and Diana Arvay for chaperoning and driving the extra vehicle; and to Deb Mullen, Sue Nabors, and Anita Ragsdale for being such wonderful chaperones. They each did a fabulous job and are to be commended!

COLOR GUARD AUDITIONS NEXT WEEK!!! Is your child a Color Guard member, or do you know a student / family that may be interested in joining our Color Guard for the 2010 season? Spread the word! Auditions are Monday, May 3 through Friday, May 7 from 4:30 until 6:00.

Dear Ridge View Band Parents,

It’s time for our Spring Trip!!! After months of careful planning, it’s finally time for our Spring Trip to Florida. Here are some reminders of what I have discussed with the students:

1 – Only one piece of luggage per student under the bus. Remember the Summer Uniform!
2 – One small carry-on bag will be permitted on the bus in the overhead compartment. It should contain swim suit, sun black, lunch money, towel, cap, flip-flops, etc for “Wet n Wild”.
3 – Students are only to be in approved locations at all times.
4 – District, school, and band rules are in effect 24 / 7.

We plan on having a great time, while representing our community, our school, and our families to the best of our abilities.

Congratulations to the members of the Ridge View Symphonic and Concert Bands for earning Superior Ratings at our State Concert Festival. I am very proud of each and every member!

Thanks to all who were involved with our Pancake Breakfast two weekends ago, and to parents who cooked and sold BBQ this past Saturday. We APPRECIATE you!!!

Dear Ridge View Band Parents,

Congratulations to Dillon Ashby, Lindsay LeGrand, Jordan Crosby, and Stephen Dixon for a great weekend at the All State Band Clinic! They represented themselves and our band very well; highlighted with great concerts yesterday afternoon.

Our Pre-Festival Concerts will be Thursday night, here at Ridge View. Our band members need to arrive no later than 7:00 pm, dressed in black formalwear. I hope to see you Thursday night!
