Percussion Ensemble

The percussion program, led by director of percussion John Roberts and assisted by Jason Frith, is an integral part of the instrumental music experience at Ridge View. The percussion students work year-round to develop, and refine their performance skills. The program uses the opportunities presented by the marching band, wind ensembles, and various jazz groups to explore all facets of percussion performance.

Additionally, the Ridge View percussion ensemble provides a avenue for its members to perform an expansive variety of musical styles from the vast landscape of percussion ensemble repertoire. This versatile, self-contained ensemble has been known to perform anything and everything from classic 20th century percussion ensemble literature, to classical transcriptions, and contemporary jazz and pop music.
