Welcome!
Dear Band Students and Parents,
We would like to welcome all new and returning band students and parents to the Kelly Mill Middle School Band program! We look forward to working with your child to continue an amazing band program we can all be proud of. In order to have this kind of band program, active parent support is required. We value parent involvement, and count on "band parents" for many things. Please plan to be active in the Kelly Mill Middle School Band Booster Club, led by Mr. Jay Guditis, Band Booster Club President.

This information serves as an operational guide for band students, parents, and director. This presents a systematic approach to the teaching and organization of the Kelly Mill Band Program. To help avoid delays and loss of teaching time due to lack of awareness of policy and procedure, please read and refer to this handbook as often as needed.

We look forward to another outstanding school year with the Kelly Mill Band Program!

Musically Yours,
Leah Cordé and Brian Wargel, Band Directors Kelly Mill Middle School

Concert Uniforms :
All band students need to have solid black dress pants, black belt (if belt loops are present), appropriate black socks/stockings and black dress shoes. In addition to that, 7th and 8th graders need to have a wing tipped tuxedo shirt. I have the black bow ties and cummerbunds, but if you have your own, that is ok too.

6th graders need to have a solid white dress shirt. Boys can wear either a long-sleeve button down shirt or a golf shirt, but it must have a collar. Ties are optional. Ladies may wear a blouse, sweater or other dressy top as long as it meets school dress code and is solid white.

Students need the full uniform by our concert, Tuesday Dec. 16; however, all students need their shirt by Nov. 24 for pictures. If you have any questions, please email me: lcorde@kmm.richland2.org
