Mr. Brian Wargel, Associate Director of Bands

Brian Wargel is a graduate of Lexington High School in Lexington, SC and holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University.  Brian is a Nationally Board Certified teacher in his 11th year of teaching, 4th year at Kelly Mill, and has taught previously in Memphis, TN and Clovis, NM.

His primary instrument is trombone and plays currently in the Palmetto Concert Band in Columbia, SC and formerly with the Star of Indiana Brass Theater out of Bloomington, IN and Mercedes Knights Big band out of Memphis, TN.

Mr. Wargel resides in Columbia with his wife, Jennifer, and three children.   Jennifer teaches Language Arts at Spring Valley High school and is also a graduate of Indiana University.   She is a high school graduate of Center Grove High School and the Bands of America Grand Champion CGHS marching band.

Christopher is 7 and in the second grade and is a talented reader and Lego artist. Emma is 5, starting Kindergarten this year, and is a future softball star.  Piper is 3 ½ and is a future story teller.  Camping, swimming, and exploring caves hold a great interest for the family as well as the Mario Kart Wii family championship cup.
